Have you ever wonder about to delete the preset Favorites buttons on Treo 650? When just received the Treo, there are already favorite buttons preset to Contacts, Voicemail, Camera, Web and Messaging. However, I never use Voicemail at all and I don’t use RealPlayer and Blazer, I want to delete them to change to other Favorites of my choices. But I couldn’t, as there’s no option for me to delete them. Courtesy to Chehui from PIL, actually there is a way to customize this.
You will need a palm resource editor such as the famous RsrcEdit, but here I am using Bird as it is free.

Install Bird.prc and look for the file, PhoneFavorites2DB. Tap twice to open for the “Record List”, delete all the records #0, #1, etc or accordingly. Click on “Apply” to save and return to the main window to save once more time. That’s it.

1. The original preset buttons. 2. After deletion, all blank. 3. A new set Favorites buttons of my choice.

Now whenever you want to edit any favorites button, there’s a “Delete” button for all, sweet.
